Thomas Chopard-Léonard
Thomas Chopard-Léonard was born in Besançon, France, on January 9, 1984.
He visited the United States at the age of 9 and loved every bit of it. He moved to the United States permanently when he was twelve with his mother and stepfather, and in just three months, he became fluent in English and became one of the best students at his middle school. He was curious and loved “everything computers.”
He went to Baton Rouge High School for two years, and to Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts for his junior and senior years. He graduated in 2002.
After graduation, Thomas took a job at a travel company and supported himself while attending Loyola University, where he completed a Bachelor of Science and majored in Computer Science in 2006. During this time, he met Ainsley Becnel and the pair became best friends.
Thomas went on to work for Duplantier, Hrapmann, Hogan & Maher, LLP in the IT department. He was well loved by his colleagues and superiors.
Thomas was loved by anyone who met him and he had a few close friends, as he was caring and took life in both hands.
Thomas lived his short life fully until June 7 of 2011, when he passed away during his sleep.
Thomas is remembered kindly by many, and it is a comforting feeling for his close family.
